This collection includes letters from Hultquist to his wife during his 1935 election campaign and during his overseas service; transcripts of the overseas letters; Labour Party telegrams received by his wife upon his death. Dr Michael Bassett used the letters as the basis for his 'A Labour candidate in the Bay of Plenty 1935' published in 'Political science' v. 24, April 1972: 62- 71.
